SAS Size & Fit Guide

Find your SAS size with SAS’s official women’s and men’s size charts and width guide — or stop in for a Brannock fitting at our Kettering, Ohio store.

How it fits

SAS recommends a professional fitting with a Brannock Device whenever possible — the same way we fit every customer in our store. SAS measures length heel to toe, arch length from ball to heel, and width, on both feet.

If you’re ordering online, SAS says to use standard sizing as your guide. Keep in mind that all styles fit differently, and that width increases as you go up in size.

Between sizes

Between sizes? Size up if you wear thick socks or orthotics, or you're on your feet all day. Choose the smaller size if you like a snug fit.

Widths

SAS width Women’s letter width Men’s letter width
S — Slim AAA B
N — Narrow AA C
M — Medium B D
W — Wide C E
WW — Double Wide D EE–EEE
WWW — Triple Wide (widest) E–EE EEE–EEEE

The widths we carry vary by style; our size picker shows SAS’s letters (S, N, M, W, WW, WWW).

Orthotics

SAS notes that many customers wear doctor-recommended orthotics. Inserts can need extra depth in the shoe and change how it fits, so allow for them when you choose your size.

SAS men’s sizes are 1½ sizes below women’s for the same foot length (women’s 7½ = men’s 6).

Foot lengths are SAS’s. Where an EU size shows a range (like 35–36), the US size falls between those two EU sizes.

How to measure

  1. Stand on a sheet of paper, with your weight on that foot.
  2. Mark the back of your heel and the tip of your longest toe.
  3. Measure between the marks in inches or centimeters.
  4. Measure both feet and use the longer one.
  5. Measure later in the day, when feet are at their largest, wearing the socks you’ll wear with the shoes.
